Organic pine nuts are the edible seeds of pine trees, also known as pinon, pinolos, and pignole. They are small, soft and creamy in texture. They make an excellent addition to stir fries, tossed in a salad or in a stuffing. Pine nuts are a rich source of mono-unsaturated fatty acids like oleic acid which helps to lower LDL or ‘bad cholesterol’ and increase ‘good cholesterol’ or HDL.
