Kathryn Nelson I do love the name! I am not always big on “big” undies, but these are actually so flattering! And very comfortable of course, organic cotton is just delicious on the skin and this product is no exception. I love the black- So chic! I didn’t realise organic cotton used so much less water, but through MGB’s social responsibility information I learned that the Textile Exchange commissioned a Life Cycle Assessment for conventional cotton versus organic cotton and found that organic cotton was far better for the environment, using 91% less water, 62% less energy, 46% less CO2, 70% less soil acidification and no GMOS or toxic chemicals. This is great because organic cotton is definitely all I want to wear for undies and bras. I was very impressed and grateful for the brand doing the leg work to educate us about this fabric life cycle so that we can continue to align our purchases with our ethics. I often find high waisted underwear uncomfortable as the band sits across the belly and it cuts in. However these feel really comfortable due to the soft and malleable fabric of the waist band. I actually love wearing these under my high waisted jeans. It’s comforting to know that the material that I’m putting on my my skin is free from harmful ingredients! It’s great to see Mighty Good Basics display the effort and commitment of obtaining GOTS certification. As a consumer it really helps to sift through green washing in this industry and GOTS certification ensures the quality of organic grown fibres and adherence to strict environmental and social criteria throughout the production process, including chemical inputs and wastewater treatment. It was impressive to read they have chosen to partner with Rajlaskhmi Cotton Mills who are already taking care of their staff and families so well!Iasmim Nery I believe MG delivers exactly what it promises: comfort, elegance and delicacy. The pieces have excellent flattering qualities and feel soft and pleasant on the skin. The colours are beautiful and from what I saw on the website, there are different styles to suit various tastes and body types. Fairtrade, ethical and proudly supporting small-scale farmers- this is also sustainable chic!
