Kathryn Nelson I love this so much! Truly slow fashion- so admirable! It’s so warm and cosy and soft, I love the feel and wearability! Oh wow I love so much that it is made from wool off cuts! I love recommending wool as a truly sustainable fabric, but so many people don’t like that it takes wool from sheep, so offcuts is a wonderful option for vegans! I was also excited to learn about “The Responsible Wool Standard (RWS)” from Smitten!! This is a statement that sheep are treated with respect to their Five Freedoms: the freedom from hunger and thirst; the freedom from discomfort; the freedom from pain, injury or disease; the freedom to express normal behaviour and the freedom from fear and distress! SO wonderful that their products are made 100% from wool offcuts and thus respecting sheep’s freedoms. And manufactured in Tasi on Aussie soil! So rare because it is so much more expensive, but they have done this in their family run factory for 16 years- so impressed!Melissa Mai The multi colours of this top are so beautiful and unique. The fabric feels soft and very breathable making the top very comfortable. It just looks and feels like a high quality garment that will last years and years. It’s colder at the moment, so I have been wearing the top underneath longer sleeved clothes, but I am excited to wear this top as it is in the summer time! It’s really beautiful to learn of all the ways that Smitten Merino are considering the impact their business has on their customers, the sheep and the planet. I love that the sheep are treated under the RWS and that they’re the most environmentally responsible merino knit manufacturer in the world. The Zero Waste Cami Top is such a good idea to minimise waste by using the off cuts from other garments and creating a truly unique piece.Iasmim Nery I truly appreciate the zero-waste approach, especially considering how much waste the fashion industry generates. The material feels soft against the skin and the print is beautifully unique. Honestly, the fact that it’s made in Tasmania- not in China- with a commitment to social and ethical responsibility is one of the things that attracts me the most. Most brands choose to manufacture in China to cut production costs, which often comes with serious environmental consequences!
